The Corn Maze

I know the first day of autumn was like a month ago, but its been unseasonably hot here the last few weeks so we haven't really been able to get into the fall spirit. We remedied that this past weekend by going to the corn maze, one of our favorite fall activities! We had so much fun navigating the mazes, visiting the petting zoo, riding the tractor, shooting off the apple cannons, and jumping on the big bounce pillow! The kids played their little hearts out and napped the rest of their little hearts out the whole way home. Such a fun day to kick off "fall"...all that's left is pumpkin carving and cookie decorating this weekend, and a couple Halloween parties before costumes and candy galore!

P.S. I made my favorite french toast for brunch on Sunday morning and it's just too good not to share!

Pumpkin Mornings

Nothing starts a Friday morning off much better than a slice of pumpkin bread covered in fudgey chocolate frosting and a home made pumpkin spice latte. Thank God it's finally fall, Thank God it's  Friday and Thank God for pumpkin!
Earlier this week I stumbled upon the recipe for this pumpkin bread recipe on Lolly Jane's instagram account. I immediately ran out and bought a can of pumpkin puree because I could not wait to make this! It tuned out as delicious as it looked when I first laid eyes on it!

Of course, the recipe didn't call for a whole can of pumpkin so naturally I used the leftover and concocted my own version of the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
You'll need:
8 oz milk
1/8-1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
5 oz espresso coffee
2 tsp salted caramel syrup (optional)
Heat the milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and salted caramel syrup in a pan on the stove top until hot and bubbly.
Pour over espresso (I used 2 tsp instant espresso powder mixed with 5oz boiling water)
Enjoy while hot!

Happy Fall Ya'll!!
