Meyer Dave 15 Months

This. Kid.
This silly, sensitive momma's boy is growing into a toddler right before our eyes!
He literally could not be any cuter, but I might be a little bias.

He weighs in at 20# and 15oz and he's 30.5" tall...on the petite side or "a trim young man" as our doc likes to call him.
He wears size 12-18 month clothes, size 3/4 shoes and size 4/5 diapers.
As you can plainly see, Meyer can walk! It is still crazy to me when I turn around and see him toddling into a room. He still is the fastest crawler in all the wild west though, and when he gets a chance he is right back on those hands and knees just whizzin' on by!
Meyer has 4 little teeth, just two on the top and two on the bottom...so weird because his older sister and brother had way more at this age, like 3x more; I keep waiting for more to poke through...maybe even molars! But for now he is just gummin' his way through life and we aren't dealing with painful teething so I will take it!
All of a sudden he is spoutin' out words left and right...my favorite it "Elliette!" such a big word for such a little boy...but he loves his big sissy.
Some other words in his vocabulary are....
"Mom"
"Dad"
"Bruh-Buh"
"Sadie"
"Ball"
"Thank You"
"Hi"
"Bye"
"Cheese"
aaaaand
"nun-nun" which is his word for "nurse" because we are still proudly breastfeeding at least 3x a day.
He can also use sign language, he knows the sign for "more, please and all-done".
He is a middle-of-the-road eater...there isn't much he won't try at least a bite of; sometimes he scarfs up everything we put in front of him and sometimes he barely touches it...ah toddler-hood where all good eaters go to die...One of his favorites at the moment is a cheesy omelet!

To say this boy has completed our family is an understatement...he is the perfect icing on our family cake.

Meyer turns 1

I probably say this every year on each of my kids' birthdays...but seriously! How has a year already come and gone before our eyes? How is my little 6# 7oz little tiny newborn baby a year old?
A year.
A year of smiles, laughs, cries, memories and milestones.
A year since we rushed into Labor and Delivery and had you in our arms an hour and a half later... (yeah that really happened). All I could do was apologize to your dad for you being born on his birthday, having to spend what was supposed to be our dinner date in the hospital...he reassured me over and over that you were the best birthday gift he could've asked for, and now I believe him.
You were our little surprise...in more way than one. Although Momma's intuition was right..I just knew you were a baby BOY.
A year of learning all your little noises and wiggles.
A year of adjusting to 3 kids.
A year of knowing our family was complete.
A year of never even remembering how life was before you.
A year.

And now here we are.
20 pounds and 30 inches tall.
Size 4 diapers.
Size 12-18 month clothes.
Crawling, standing and cruising...not walking yet (Momma is holding on to that a little longer)
Sleeping through the night...yes hallelujah after 11+ months of struggling he finally sleeps.
Sayin' some words like "dada" mostly, sometimes "momma", "ball" and his own version of "Sadie". And my personal favorite...if you ask what a doggie says; "wuff wuff!"
Two teeth is all you've got so far despite the drooling, chewing and cranky-ness...way less than your brother and sister had at 1 year!
Eating all the food Momma cooks, but your most favorite thing to do is secretly give the dog your food..
and still my little nursling..1 whole year, yay!
Loves to play with cars and trucks and drive them around.
Love to dribble and throw balls and has recently started practicing shooting in a little basketball hoop...we still have major hopes for your MLB/NBA career!
Meyer David you are silly, sensitive and sweet.
You have an attitude to boot.
You amaze me every single day.
Through all the fussing (and I mean a lot of fussing) I have enjoyed every moment of the last 365 days with you.
You were always meant to be in our lives, the most perfect fit to our family.
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.
Happy 1st birthday my sweet boy!!

MD 9 month update

My BABY is 9 months old...that's only 3 months away from turning 1 for you mathematicians out there...
How can he be the most smiley, happiest baby...yet the fussiest baby at the same time? Somehow he manages...
 Meyer is 19 pounds even (19th %tile)
&
29.5 inches tall (87th %tile)
He is our tall and slender string bean!
He wears a size 4 diaper and size 9-12 month clothes.
He is finally catching up from being born under 7#

Meyer can CRAWL!
Although he drools like a faucet he still doesn't have any teeth poking through.
He gives big, open-mouthed, slobbery kisses!
He can throw a ball and seriously might have a future pitching in the major leagues!
Don't let that sweet face fool you...
he definitely does NOT sleep through the night...he wakes up and wants to snuggle in Momma's bed and for some reason I am okay with it and pretty much enjoy every second. He (usually) takes 2 naps a day..the 2nd of which (again, usually) coincides with big sister's nap leaving a nice chunk of quiet time for mommy :-)
He eats 3 solid meals a day plus a snack or two..he is kind of picky and will let it be known if he isn't diggin' what's been put in front of him..mostly by chucking it onto the floor... but other wise just eats bites of what the family is eating.
He does well with a sippy cup and can pick up bites with his little fingers and feed himself too!
He has recently decided he will take a bottle due to momma being out of town a couple of times..
but still nurses like a champ...we are so close to our 1 year goal!

He says "Mama", "Dada" and a variety of other gibberish baby babbling, plus has learned to scream at the tip top of his lungs; a trick he learned from his big sister that could seriously shatter glass!

I can hardly believe that my next update will be for a 1 year old. Time goes by too quickly...
Love you MD!

Thursday Thoughts..

Nothing exciting has been going on around here lately...We have all been kind of sick and busy with regular stuff like school and activities...
I don't have anything specific to blog about this week so I put together a little list of just a few things happening this week...

1. Griff man started spring soccer! He gets moved up this year to U6, so he gets to play with the big kids. He so needs this..his birthday being in August puts him right on the brink of everything.. he is either the oldest by far or the youngest. He is definitely too big, strong and competitive to be playing with 3 year olds anymore...this season should really challenge him! I am so excited to watch his games!

2. Elliette had her first dentist appointment this week! We tried out a new office in town called The Smile Academy and it went great! She was so brave! she didn't cry, she didn't fuss and she opened her mouth biiiiig and wide for the dentist to check out her teeth. Everybody was commenting about how her awesome behavior was not typical for a kiddo her age..cue beaming proud momma moment! We kind of dropped the ball with Griff when it came to early dental care so we are getting Ellie in early and often to start a positive experience with dental hygiene!

3. Meyer has learned how to patty cake! Watching him get all sorts of super excited and clap his hands together when somebody starts to sing the patty cake song just makes me grin from ear to ear. I love little milestones like this..it makes him seem so big!

4. Scott got me a fitbit for an early birthday present and I am seriously obsessed with it. Nobody probably cares that I've walked 13,000 steps today but you better believe I'm going to tell you all about it! And also all about my heart rate, the calories I've burned and lots of other useless information that I am strangely proud of haha. I did some light research before we purchased and I decided on the fitbit Charge HR because I really liked that it kept track of my heart rate all day...even resting. The most interesting aspect of it so far is when it tracks my sleep...it is so weird to see how many times I was awake or restless in the middle of the night (thanks Meyer) and how many hours of sleep I actually got. Love this thing!

5. For the first time in about 3 years I have started "working"...although it is an independent business and done mostly from home, I am excited for this new adventure in my life and to see where I can take it and where it might take me! I have joined the Mary and Martha team selling unique and beautiful products for the home. I will be having my launch gathering soon, so keep your eyes peeled! Feel free to visit my personal consultant website to browse, discover and shop...you will not be disappointed!

6. I have subscribed to Hello Fresh and ordered some delicious meals for us to try next week. Our first shipment should arrive tomorrow and I am looking so forward to cooking our first round of meals! Is anybody else a Hello Fresh subscriber? I would love to hear some testimonials!

Thanks for stopping by and catching up with the Kuglers!
Have a good weekend! XO

Meyer 6 Month Update

This cutie was 6 months old last week. A whole half a year has passed since he was born..half a year?! It feels like I was just holding him fresh and new in the hospital...and then I blinked...and here we are halfway to a 1 year old. Time is going by all too quickly, as it seems to with all of our kiddos! We are enjoying watching Meyer grow and learn everyday. He has become such a happy happy boy (compared to the fussy baby he once was) he is so sweet and his big-mouthed smile can light up the room!

Meyer is 16 pounds 5 ounces and 26 3/4 inches tall. He has moved up in percentiles (23rd for weight and 50th for height) so maybe he won't be such a shrimp after all! Meyer doesn't have any teeth or any real signs that I can see (besides lots of drool, but what baby doesn't?) He wears size 3 diapers, size 3-6 & 6 month clothing and has recently started to eat some solids, which makes life a little easier; mostly rice cereal..usually mixed with a little fruit and/or veggies!  He is very ticklish and a little wiggleworm too!

Meyer can: sit unassisted, smile, laugh, play with toys, eat big boy food and has started to try and clap his hands.

Meyer loves: to snuggle his momma, when his daddy holds him, breast milk (in the most literal sense of the word), chewing on soft blankies, watching his big brother and sister play, grabbing for things that are off limits, putting everything in his mouth, playing with his feet, and being held.

Meyer dislikes: being left alone, sleeping in his own room/bed, bottles (still), and pacifiers (still).

I wanted to share about this teething/nursing necklace I recently purchased from The Vintage Honey Shop... it's quickly becoming one of our 6 month favorites!
- It's stylish so I don't feel like I am wearing a toy around my neck.
- Since it's tied around my neck we don't have to worry about Meyer dropping it on the dirty floor like we do with a lot of other teething toys.
- It's the perfect distraction for while he is nursing since these days he is a lot more interested in what is going on around him rather than relaxing for a good nursing session.
- Each necklace is handmade, organic and safe!
-An extra perk that nobody probably cares about but me...it's packaged beautifully and I felt so special getting it in the mail!
I would highly recommend one of these for you mommas that have a grabby, teething, curious baby on your lap!

Meyer really has surprised me with his 180 degree transformation from a very unhappy, fussy, whiny little baby to a happy, easygoing, smiley little 6 month old...and I am so very thankful for this!
He is getting better about sleeping too! Thank GOD

I just love this little boy with all my heart!

We are looking forward to celebrating his 1st Easter next weekend!
